Applied Behavior Analysis Services

In the spring of 2019, MidSouth Therapy Group opened their Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program which is directly supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). MidSouth Therapy Group offers individualized behavior services based on ABA principles, which is an evidence-based treatment to make a socially significant impact on their lives. The programs are designed to teach skills to the children and provide support to the families. MidSouth Therapy group offers services in the following setting: in homes, in school, and in the community. Treatment involves teaching up appropriate behaviors and skills using reinforcement (positive) strategies. While challenging behaviors are targeted to decreased. A BCBA will write up a treatment plan specifically for your child, with both short and long term goals. A BCBA will collaborate with other therapist, teachers and parents to carry over, generalize and promote independence in skills being taught. 

Are you having difficulty getting your child to stop engaging in a specific problem behavior? Are you having a hard time teaching a new skill? Does your child want to be social but is having a hard time making friends? Does your child have easily communicate or need help communicating? Is your child quick to respond or become upset when something doesn't go their way? ABA may be effect in a making a socially significant difference in a child's or family's life. 

ABA is effective in making a change in the following area:

  • Attending

  • Aggression

  • Communication

  • Life Skills ( handwashing, toilet training, feeding, sleep problems, play skills etc.)

  • Noncompliance

  • Property Destruction

  • Eye Contact

  • School Readiness

  • Social Skills

 

*ABA is used to increase language, communication and social skills. While decreasing behaviors that interfere with learning or that are harmful such as disruptive behaviors, physical and verbal aggression, property destruction, off task behaviors, task refusal, tantrums and repetitive behaviors. ABA is used to teach up and increase skills such as improve academics, attention, compliance, focus, memory, and social skills.
